Managers in this role are often responsible for setting and supporting organisational objectives, and are involved in strategic decisions as well as the management of people. This level 5 apprenticeship will help you to develop these skills as well as many others, to help increase your confidence in a middle management role.

Course Content
  • You will be required to undertake and have an understanding of a number of different core skills, knowledge and behaviours in order to complete this apprenticeship. These include:

    Operational management principles - including operational planning, contingency planning and continuous improvement
    Business management principles - including business development, business finance, sales and marketing
    Project management - including business change, prioritisation techniques and time, resource and risk management
    Performance management - including achieving targets, delivering objectives and setting KPIs
    Leadership and management techniques - including coaching and mentoring, delegation, decision making, recruitment and problem solving
    Relationship management - including negotiation and networking skills and partner, stakeholder and supplier management
    Communications - including active listening, interpersonal skills, report writing and digital, verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.

    If you do not already hold level 2 functional skills in maths and English (GCSE grade 4 or C), you will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End Point Assessment.You will be able to register as a full member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).If you have 3 years management experience you will be able to apply for chartered manager status through the CMI.Delivery of this course is in the workplace, with weekly workshops held at college.
Entry Requirements
  • GCSE Grade 4 or C in maths and English or level 2 functional skills in maths and English.

    Entry is subject to a successful interview and you will undertake an initial assessment in maths and English regardless of previous qualifications. You must be working under a suitable and relevant contract of employment for a minimum of 30 hours a week. If you do not have an employer, we may be able to help you find one.

Course Fees

There are no course fees for eligible students. Students will also earn a full-time wage while they are working for their apprenticeship employer.
You will need access to a PC/laptop to develop your e-portfolio.

Materials Required

Notepad, Pen, Folder, Memory stick, any additional study materials such as textbooks.
