This course is designed to support new entrants into a career servicing and maintaining agricultural machinery. It will combine classroom-based sessions with a considerable opportunity to practice essential engineering skills in a land-based work environment. You will receive an introduction to important topics in land-based technology and can choose from a wide range of subjects from thermal joining processes to servicing engines.
It is a broad course for young people who enjoy working with machinery and is designed to help you progress into a wide range of land-based engineering roles or to boost your existing skills and knowledge. It has also been designed to lead on to the Advanced Apprenticeship in Land Based Technology.

There are no course fees for eligible students aged 16-18. Students aged 19-25 may also be eligible for government funding or a student loan depending on their circumstances. |

Assessment fees for some additional qualifications, ususally between £70 and £120 per qualification for certificates of competence. For some additional qualifications, a contribution towards the cost of training may also be required. |
Basic stationery - calculator, pens, paper and lever arch files, Protective overalls, Steel toe capped work boots, AEL uniform (polo shirt and sweat shirt).
Tetanus protection is recommended. All protective equipment will be inspected by the Course Manager
