This apprenticeship is aimed at anyone who wants to be involved in tree care. Whilst this is primarily oriented towards chainsaw usage in the tree canopy, you will also be covering pests and diseases, tree identification, tree biology, soil science and legislation relating to tree work. This is a great opportunity to earn the necessary Certificates Of Competence that the industry requires.
The apprenticeship consists of 18 months to complete the underpinning theory and practical work with an additional three months to complete the End Point Assessment.

There are no course fees for eligible students. Students will also earn a full-time wage while they are working for their apprenticeship employer. |

You will need access to a PC/laptop to develop your e-portfolio.
Writing materials - notebook and pen.
Packed lunch and drink, especially if we are working away from college all day.
Chainsaw Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to current industry standards is required for this course.
Work equipment, harnesses, PPE, etc., are available from the college, but candidates’ own may be used, subject to checks by the instructor.
2 x passport photos and National Insurance (NI) number.
Waterproofs/change of clothes in case of inclement weather.
