This one year course is designed for people who want to work with horses and develop specialist technical practical skills and knowledge required to progress into industry or continue with further specialist education. Kingston Maurward offers ridden pathways and non ridden pathways to suit range of employment opportunities with a perfect blend of practical and theory based learning working alongside highly experienced and qualified staff. Students will undertake weeks of work experience and also learn from local employers and industry experts to contribute towards the knowledge and delivery of their training. The students also work at Manor stables to develop and enhance practical skills needed for the course and for employment into industry to include assisting with running shows and riding school at the weekends on a rota.
Students are also encouraged to take British Horse Society assessments alongside their course to gain further internationally recognised qualifications and strengthen their CV ready for life after college. Throughout the course there are visit from guest speakers, industry experts, masterclasses and trips to equine establishments and venues, for example, Badminton and Olympia.

There are no course fees for eligible students aged 16-18. Students aged 19-25 may also be eligible for government funding or a student loan depending on their circumstances. |

Students can purchase Kingston Maurward uniform to include college polo shirts, jumpers and coats which are to be worm at all times at college. There is a contribution towards study trips and BHS assessment fees would be required for those who wish to take the optional qualifications alongside their vocational studies. |

Riding hat to PAS 015 standard with black or navy cover, body protector BS1 if taking a ridden unit, hair net for hair longer than collar length, schooling whip and jump whip (ridden units). Navy yard overalls, navy or black waterproof leggings, steel toe capped wellington boots or steel toe capped yard boots. Navy, black or brown jodhpurs or breeches (no running leggings or riding tights), long black or brown riding boots or jodhpurs boots and leather gaiters or chaps. Suitable base layers in black or navy for cold weather. A plaiting kit.
