The course has eight units in the first year:
Animal Health and Welfare
Business and Business Environment
Animal Anatomy and Physiology
Horse Husbandry
Managing Equine Facilities
Equestrian Performance
Marketing Essentials
Managing a Successful Project
These develop core skills and knowledge in Equine Business skills, Welfare and Husbandry.
In the second year, students study units aimed at progression into equine industry specialisms.

Work Experience
Therapy and Rehabilitation
Advanced Equestrian Performance
Horse Event Management
Managing and Running a Small Business
Entry Requirements

Level 3 Extended Diploma in Equine or Animal Management (1080) - City and Guilds or BTEC - grade PPP or above, or MP for the 720 credit Extended Diploma.
A Levels to a combination of 48 UCAS points - key subjects Biology, Psychology
Applicants should have GCSEs in English and maths at grade 4 or above. Applicants should be able to demonstrate riding ability or experience working with horses.
Mature students may want to discuss qualifications and experience before applying, but are not exempt from the course if they do not have specific entry qualifications.
international students can apply but should have achieved IELTS at 5.5 or above.

Career Opportunities

This allows progression onto Level 6 BSc (Hons) Top Up courses at Universities and Colleges in equine or animal related studies.
Employment opportunities would include equine facilities management, riding instructors and riding school management, behaviour and equine consultancy.

Materials Required
Learners will have practical sessions and should ensure they have correct PPE. This includes suitable clothing, steel toe boots, water proof and other specific riding equipment. Learners will also find it useful to have their own devices (laptops, tablets) to bring to college for classwork and to access learning materials.
