Course Information

Kingston Maurward College has developed this Top Up course for students on the FdSc Marine Ecology and Conservation in conjunction with Bournemouth University to provide a progression route to Level 6 in this field. The course is offered by Bournemouth University but will be partly delivered by staff at the Kingston Maurward campus. Students will have the opportunity to study key specialist subjects with familiar staff and surroundings at KMC, but also for part of their studies they will have access to the expertise and facilities of staff at Bournemouth University for other key subjects.

This is an exciting development to provide a marine based Top Up route for students on the foundation degree and will allow students to retain study in the familiar environment of the college but also opportunities to work with leading scientists from our partner HEI at Bournemouth. Students will be full BU students able to access all facilities such as learning resources, student support, SUBU and finance and careers advice.

Study at Kingston Maurward will be 1 fixed day per week. Study at BU will be a range of regular lecture and seminar sessions, plus project supervision appointments.
