This course will enable you to gain the City & Guilds Level 2 Qualification in the Safe Use of a Manually Fed Wood-chipper. It comprises of 1 day of Training with an assessment which may be arranged on a subsequent date in order to gain the qualification.

Where possible assessment will be arranged for the same day of training.

  • The course will train you on how to;

    Prepare and Operate a Manually Fed Wood-chipper

    Outcomes will include;

    1. Know the health and safety requirements for operating a wood-chipper
    2. Be able to carry out a risk assessment on a site
    3. Be able to prepare the equipment and site for wood-chipping operations
    4. Be able to operate a wood-chipper
    5. Carry out maintenance on a wood-chipper
Entry Requirements
  • Candidates must be a minum of 16 years old.

Materials Required

You will need gloves, protective hard-hat, with ear defenders and visor/eye protection.

Long sleeved clothing, protective boots (steel toe caps) and chainsaw trousers are also required.

These can be provided by the college or you may bring your own
