Course Information

This in-depth two year programme will develop your coaching and instructing skills whilst giving you a sound and concise knowledge of sport and exercise science. Offering the ideal mix between practical and academic learning, it will give you the opportunity to investigate a wide range of subjects including science and physiology, nutrition, sports injuries and the lifestyle of the athlete.

This course links closely with the sports and fitness industries to help advise and prepare you for your first steps into your chosen career.

    Plus: Entry in the British colleges' football leagues as well as a wide range of fitness opportunities. Option to include (additional cost): Gym and fitness instructing qualification. All students will have the opportunity to join the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme (DofE) and can participate in Football and Rugby at various levels with the chance of joining the British Colleges Leagues college team.
Entry Requirements
  • 4 GCSEs at minimum grades 9-4 or A*-C, including English, maths and a science or PE OR a Level 2 Diploma at Merit level including English and maths grades 9-4 or A*- C. You will need enthusiasm and a keen interest in sport.

Course Fees

There are no course fees for eligible students aged 16-18. Students aged 19-25 may also be eligible for government funding or a student loan depending on their circumstances.

Materials Required

A full kit list will be provided before the start of the course. Suitable outdoor clothing - the clothing must be suitable for environment, climate and time of year. Appropriate footwear. KMC polo shirt.
You will be required to purchase a training kit package at the start of the course - this cost will include a contribution towards additional educational visits.
