Course Information

This final level is very highly sought after and the AAT suggest it can make a difference of up to 30% on salaries when compared with non AAT members. The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) is the UK's leading qualification and membership body for accounting staff and provides the only fast-track non-graduate route into chartered accountancy.

The professional diploma covers financial team leader skills, including financial statements for limited companies, complex management accounting tasks, management skills and specialist learning areas.

Course Content
  • You will gain skills in the following areas:

    Drafting and interpreting limited company financial statements
    Applied Management Accounting
    Internal Accounting Systems and Controls
    Business and Personal Tax
    Auditing and Cash Management
    There will be a computer based exam at the end of each unit, with a final exam covering all units at the end of the course. Your qualification will be graded (Pass, Merit, Distinction).

    Please note that all AAT exams will be scheduled during the daytime and not the evening and there will be a limit to the number of exam retakes you can do.

    Candidates will also be expected to undertake additional study outside class times.
    Course fees comprise tuition fees and computer based assessment fees (registration/exam) for each of the units, payable to the college. AAT membership fees are payable directly to AAT.

    Text books, with a question banks are available for purchase at a discount through the college.
Entry Requirements
  • Applicants need to have spoken to someone at the college before booking onto this course.
    Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and accounts qualifications at level 3 or above are desirable.
    However, students who have prior accounts experience may be accepted at the discretion of the course tutor, and upon successful completion of a short test.

Materials Required

Memory stick, study text and exam kit. AAT offer student access to software for students to download to use as part of their studies. Student may wish to use their own device for class work.
