You will study a Level 2 Blacksmithing and Welding qualification, developing your skills in welding and in the forge to have the basic specialist skills and knowledge in this vocational area.

Entry Requirements
  • 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or higher, to include English and mathematics, and a satisfactory educational reference will need to be received.

Course Fees

There are no course fees for eligible students aged 16-18. Students aged 19-25 may also be eligible for government funding or a student loan depending on their circumstances.
A £100 contribution towards the cost of course materials is payable at the start of the course.
Uniform and PPE.

Materials Required

Although PPE is available, we strongly advise students to provide their own welding mask and goggles and any items of a personal nature for their own hygiene protection. KMC uniform (polo shirt and sweat shirt), Flame retardant protective overalls, Steel toecap safety boots. Pen, paper, lever arch files, Stationery required for technical drawing e.g. pencils, ruler, compass
