• Professional working responsibilities (exam)
• Schedule: 3 days per week, with 9 hours dedicated specifically to Agriculture teaching
• Guided Learning Hours: 360 over one year
• Work experience
• Applied farming practice
• Estate skills and estate maintenance
• Land based machinery operations
• English and Maths
Entry Requirements

• 4 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, which may/may not include both English and Maths
• We consider progression from the successful completion of a relevant Level 2 qualification at Merit level with a good behaviour/attitude report OR an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Agriculture with good levels of English and Maths.
Mature students without formal qualifications will also be considered. Some farming experience before starting the course is essential, along with the ability to manage written coursework. A work placement of up to 227 hours must be completed as part of the qualification.

• Learners may consider progressing onto the Higher National Diploma in Agriculture and/or a BSc Applied Agricultural Science at a different university provider or employment.

Employment prospects are strong due to ongoing skills shortages within the agricultural sector, with many learners progressing directly into work following their placement.

Course Fees
There are no course fees for eligible students aged 16-18. Students aged 19-25 may also be eligible for government funding or a student loan depending on their circumstances.
