Course Information

The English countryside is one of our most valuable assets – National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty make up 25% of England, while National Nature Reserves cover an additional 60,000 hectares across 143 different sites.
Countryside professionals are the people who care for our outdoor scenery, balancing conservation, recreation and land use so they remain distinctive, healthy and accessible for generations to come.
At Coastland College, Countryside Worker apprentices gain skills through a balance of field-based learning, classroom study and direct workplace experience. Guided by sector-specialist Learning and Skills Assessors, they build the practical expertise, technical understanding and confidence needed to protect habitats, manage estates and support the sustainable use of our rural and natural environments.
