Course Content
  • A more advanced programme, the Horticulture or Landscaping Supervisor apprenticeship prepares you to take responsibility for planning, leading and overseeing horticultural operations in a variety of locations.
    Apprentices develop the skills to:

    ~Plan and manage the maintenance of established spaces, from private gardens to large public sites

    ~Oversee teams carrying out hard and soft landscaping tasks

    ~Ensure work is completed to the highest standards, in line with design, purpose and business objectives

    ~Apply advanced technical knowledge to a wide range of horticultural tasks.

    This pathway is ideal for those stepping into leadership roles, ensuring projects are delivered smoothly and professionally while maintaining high-quality environments.

    Qualification Gained:

    Level 3 award or training and assessment in first aid at work minimum 3-day course (face-to-face), carried out by either an awarding organisation, a UKAS accredited trade body or voluntary aid society recognised by government as specified in HSE document GEIS 3.

    City & Guilds Level 2 Principles of safe handling and application of pesticides.

    City & Guilds Level 2 Award in The Safe Application of Pesticides Using Pedestrian Hand-Held Equipment.

Entry Requirements
  • Ideally applicants would hold a minimum of GCSE grade 4 in both English and Maths. If these are not obtained, an initial assessment will be used to assess entry onto the apprenticeship.

    Assessment - Assessment is continuous throughout your apprenticeship with an external final assessment at the end to complete the apprenticeship.

    College Attendance - You will attend college 1 day per week in the first year of your apprenticeship

    Duration - 30 months in learning followed by 3 months for end-point assessment.

There are no course fees for eligible students. Students will also earn a full-time wage while they are working for their apprenticeship employer.
