Take on the challenge to further develop your skills and knowledge by going on outdoor adventures on-site and in the local area, learn a wide range of outdoor activities and apply your training from the practical sessions to the classroom.

    Outdoor activities on this course include:Kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, bouldering, abseiling, walking, campcraft and a camping expedition.You will also have the opportunity to gain the British Canoe Union 2 Star Award on the days you are not at college.All students will have the opportunity to join the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme (DofE) and can participate in Football and Rugby at various levels with the chance of joining the British Colleges Leagues college team.
Entry Requirements
  • 4 GCSEs at minimum grades 3/D, including English and maths. You will need a keen interest and lots of enthusiasm for outdoor activities and activity leadership.

Course Fees

There are no course fees for eligible students aged 16-18. Students aged 19-25 may also be eligible for government funding or a student loan depending on their circumstances.
There will be additional costs for specialist outdoor clothing for land and water-based activities and the course text book.

Materials Required

Basic stationery - pens, pencils, A4 level arch files, ruler and eraser. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear - the clothing must be suitable for the activity environment, climate and time of year. Polo shirts and sweatshirt are available for purchase at college.
