Course Content

• Countryside Workers are hands-on conservationists.
  Apprentices in this role learn to:
  
  ·Carry out practical tasks such as habitat management, fencing, planting, and path maintenance
  
  ·Understand how conservation work fits alongside farming, recreation and sporting activities such as fishing and shooting
  
  ·Support biodiversity while enabling safe and sustainable use of the countryside
  
  This is an entry point for those starting out in countryside and environmental management, combining practical skills with an understanding of how land is used and valued.
  
  Qualification Gained:
  
  Intermediate Level 2 Countryside Worker apprenticeship
  

Entry Requirements

• Ideally applicants would hold a minimum of GCSE grade 3 in both English and Maths. If these are not obtained, an initial assessment will be used to assess entry onto the apprenticeship.
  
  Assessment is continuous throughout your apprenticeship with an external final assessment at the end to complete the apprenticeship.
  
  College attendance - You will attend college 1 day per week in the first year of your apprenticeship.
  
  Duration - 12 months in learning followed by 3 months for end-point assessment.
